Finnish forests are responsible for binding a significant amount of our nation’s greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere and storing them. The more our forests grow, the more carbon dioxide is absorbed from the atmosphere into these carbon sinks.

Skoggi offers forest owners the opportunity to extend the lifecycle of their forests and receive compensation per hectare for doing so. You can designate your forest as a carbon sink and extend your forest lifecycle by either 10 or 20 years. Suitable forests for our carbon sequestration projects are those whose next felling is the final felling and are still growing well.

We will start paying compensation to forest owners for the carbon sequestration of forests reserved for carbon sequestration in 2023.
